Camped here in early May with my dog. Had a fantastic weekend. Sarah was very helpful and checked in with us the first morning.
The tent area was quiet, given it was early May. Shower and toilet block just at the edge of the field. Campers kitchen has hobs, sinks, kettle, toaster, freezer and plenty sockets to charge devices. There’s also a playground and games room for kids.
Short but steep walk up to the cairn but was well worth it for the view!
The cafe is super handy for hot and iced coffees, delicious cakes and premade sandwiches. Plenty space to sit in the courtyard.
Short drive into Oldcastle where I recommend Ciara’s Candy & Cafe for a dog friendly lunch – May 2026
* Very nicely located campsite
More coincidentally, on our way through, we came across this out-of-way place and its interesting surroundings. Friendly welcome and briefing, the reference to the highly recommended walk up the hill with views of the other Megalith hills. Clean and hot showers and toilets, here you could have stayed longer. * Great Stay

Really lovely establishment. Good facilities, interesting site, handy to the cairns and loads of space for camping. Hot water went on the blink but owners were always about and were really helpful. Kids play areas were great. Kitchen nice and clean with lots of items for use. Thanks. August 2025

From Oldcastle: take the R154. After blue garage turn right. Take the next left. Eircode A82 A6N7
