So much happening this June Bank Holiday weekend
Summer has well and truly arrived and with it a host of festival and activities taking place throughout the country. This June Bank Holiday weekend is no exception. There is so much happening around the country you will be spoilt for choice.
The big event this weekend is Bloom which takes place in the Phoenix Park from 2nd ? 6th June. This will be of interest to all the family. Why not make a weekend of it, staying at one of the many caravan parks in Wicklow and travel into Dublin on the Dart. Or alternatively stay in Dublin and visit the many other attractions in the capital.
If music is your thinking, well then this weekend you will be in a difficult situation trying to choose which festival to attend.

Whether you are a biker chick or motorhead, then the Killarney Bikefest is the place to be in Kerry. Run in association with Harley Davidson, this is an international festival for motorcycle owners, enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in bikes!
They say laughter is the best medicine, therefore the place to be over the June Bank Holiday weekend is The Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, Kilkenny. Ireland’s first – and still favourite – comedy festival returns with the best Irish, British and international stand-up comedians, set against the backdrop of Ireland’s medieval capital.
Water is a big theme this weekend with 2 big Festivals take place in Dublin and Cork. In Dublin the Dublin Port River Fest provides a wide range of activities on and around the River Liffey and the river quays for families over the June Bank Holiday Weekend 2016. The Cork Harbour Festival, the largest event in Cork Harbour attracting thousands of people is also happening. Watch a spectacular fleet of boats in the Ocean to City Race and enjoy dozens of maritime events for the family. In Mayo, the Festival of the Pirate Queentakes place, a celebration along the coastline of Clew Bay of Ireland’s Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley featuring traditional music, Irish drama, Achill yawl racing and craft beers at The Grainne Ale Festival, all happening in Westport.
For the literary minded, Listowel Writers’ Week Ireland’s leading and longest running internationally acclaimed literary festival takes place in the historic and intimate surrounding of Listowel, Co. Kerry.
If you want to get outdoors and shake off the cobwebs well then Bantry Walking Festival in West Cork is the place for you. A weekend of walking on the Wild Atlantic Way, with routes to suit all levels.
All of these fun events and activities can be tied in with your caravan & camping holiday. Use one of the many caravan parks located throughout the country as your base for the weekend.
