On the shores of Lough Ree

On 5 acres of countryside on the shore of Lough Ree, 2 miles from Athlone town on N55 road. A family run park, with own jetty and boat slip and bordered by a 500m stretch of Breensford trout river.

Idea for angling, boating, windsurfing, sailing and canoeing. Great base for visiting Clonmacnoise, scenic walks, daily cruises on River Shannon, golfing, horse riding and sailing. Recreation room and camper?s kitchen on site with pub beside the park. Bus groups and clubs catered for.

Disabled toilet and shower facilities available. Credit cards accepted. Free WiFi access.

    We had a brilliant stay at Lough Ree East. The location right on the lakeshore is stunning, providing a peaceful backdrop and easy access to the water.
    A huge thank you to the owner, John, who was lovely and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The site is well-maintained and perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway! Dog friendly. April 2026 – Couple

    Nice big pitches by a beautiful lake. Man very nice and friendly. Toilets and showers clean. Good wifi. Nice pub within walking distance with live music. July 2025 – Family
  • A firm favourite.
    We started visiting 4 years ago and do so multiple times a season, and we’re on our third now in the last 8 weeks. Always always, rain or shine, we love the relaxed atmosphere onsite and the stir around the lake. John is a great host, and those that help him. He’s a master conversationalist and fountain of information. The site itself is maintained, but in keeping with the natural setting by a lake. Toilets and showers are always spotless, and any rare issue we ever had over the years ( and I emphasise rare) it has always been taken care of quickly and with good nature. We love it, our many return visits speak for themselves and we recognise many return visitors on the site which is always great to see. Highly recommended, and the Dog and Duck pub outside the entrance gates is an added bonus . Happy camping and safe travels. June 2025 – Family
