About Galey Bay Caravan & Camping Park

Friendly, family run site located along the shores of the majestic Lough Ree in County Roscommon, a short distance from Roscommon Town and a perfect base for exploring the islands of Lough Ree and the neighbouring counties of Galway, Mayo and Sligo.

An ideal location for outdoor pursuits – water sports, fishing, sailing, swimming, hunting, walking and cycling. The lake is a 2 minute walk from the site with boats available to hire from reception.

The park is more than one hectare with 27 pitches and has wheelchair accessible toilet block, TV lounge, pool room, campers kitchen and children?s play area.

  • Very nice campsite with about 12 pits for campers/caravans and a grass area for tents. Clean toilets and showers, sittingroom, tv, pooltable, dog friendly. Very near to the lake. Very kind owners who give it a personal touch. Great place if you love fishing and or boating, for the rest not so much to do or see. The scenery is nice, quiet but less spectacular than the coastal areas. July 2025 

 

  • We received a warm welcome and found the prices to be very reasonable. The campsite is charming, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. Facilities include showers, a lounge area, grey water disposal, and more. I highly recommend this campsite. September 2025

From Athlone: N61 to Roscommon, turn right then immediately left before railway crossing (before Knockcroghery), continue 1 mile at Crossroad, turn right. From Roscommon: N61 towards Athlone. After Knockcrogheny Village turn left then immediately left after the railway crossing. Turn right at first crossroads.
