  • Fantastic Family and Dog-Friendly Campsite with a Great Easter Adventure
We had a lovely stay at Westport Camping Site and would definitely come back. The campsite itself is really family friendly with a great holiday atmosphere. The facilities were excellent, especially the free showers, and we loved having Gracy?s Pizzeria and Bar on site. The food was amazing and the local beer was a lovely touch. One of the nicest things was how dog friendly everything was. The staff bringing out water bowls for the dogs made us smile, and our girls were delighted when they got free chocolate lollipops on leaving Gracy?s. We also did the Easter Trail and spent the day in Westport Adventure Park. The adventure park itself and the Easter trail hunt were fantastic ? the kids absolutely loved it and said it was ?the best day ever?! They were so excited to solve the secret code and get their chocolate bunny at the end. Most of the young staff were brilliant ? so friendly, enthusiastic and great with children. The only disappointment with the Easter Trail was that there was no Easter Bunny. Another family mentioned the same thing. I think having someone dressed up as the Easter Bunny would really have made the day extra special and completed the experience. A few of the staff in the adventure park also came across as a little nonchalant, but overall the majority were excellent. The only negative for us on the campsite was the drainage around the hard stand. Our caravan only just fit on the hard stand so we had to step out onto the grass. After the very heavy rain on Easter Saturday, it flooded badly and there was literally a lake outside our caravan. We also visited Westport House, which is lovely. We were told they are closing for two years from this summer to restore the interior. So much work has already gone into the exterior and we are excited to come back in a couple of years to see what they have done. Overall, this is a campsite we will definitely return to ? great facilities, fantastic for families and dogs, and a really enjoyable place to stay. April 2026 – Family
  • Fab campsite only 20 minutes from Westport town
Great campsite about a 20 minute walk from Westport town. Yes there are kids playing with balls, hurleys, Frisbees etc but that’s what a family friendly campsite looks like in the summer. There are 2 shower/toilet blocks – the one in between the tent pitches & glamping is much newer and more modern. They also have 2 hairdryers. The other block could do with with being modernised but is perfectly usable. We had no problems with hot water for showers.
The games room is great- pool table, fussball & an air hockey table and at ?1 per game, they don’t fleece you.
The campers kitchen has a kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer & 2 microwaves. Brilliant activity park on site. We had kids ranging from 4 – 16 and there was something for everyone. There’s a bar, coffee shop, pizzeria, and 2 food trucks on site (these close earlier than the pizzeria though). There’s a new sauna/hot tub area over beside the glamping area. ?25 an hour.
Any staff we met were lovely. The security guy starts asking people about 10.30 to have the kids settled by 11pm so the site really quietens down after that and I saw him still cycling around at 1am which is reassuring. All in all, the campsite had everything we needed & is a great location for touring the area.
One family stayed in the glamping tents which are lovely- small but very cosy. July 2025 – Family

We are located just off the N59 Newport/Achill road: 1km outside of Westport town, take the turning by the Teagasc Building towards Golf Club/Carrowholly. Watch out for green signposts with caravan & camping symbols
