This is a family friendly festival with events for all interests and all ages. Also in Mayo, the Ballina Fringe Festival<\/strong><\/a> with exceptional art, musical entertainment, historical discoveries, tales well told and lyrical words that dance through poetry. Mayo<\/strong><\/a> is a great place to spend a few days and take in the many great sites and activities. Why not take your bikes and cycle some (or all!) of the Western Greenway or climb Croagh Patrick or take in the Mayo Dark Sky Festival in Newport. A three-day extravaganza of dark sky events and activities for all the family to enjoy and under the beauty of County Mayo’s dark skies.<\/p> We all love our food and this autumn, we are throwing open the doors to a food and drink celebration throughout the island of Ireland! Taste the Island<\/strong><\/a> will showcase the very best of Ireland?s food and drink culture. That means everything from restaurants and local craft food and drink producers to festivals and food trails and everything in between! Events will take place throughout the country right through into November. Be sure to take in some of the events and experience Ireland?s fantastic food and drink.<\/p> A spectacular Halloween festival takes place from 31st<\/sup> October to 2nd<\/sup> November. Púca Festival<\/strong><\/a><\/p> Includes 3 nights of Music, Food, Light and Spectacle celebrating Ireland as the home of Halloween.. Held in the Boyne Valley, the event will take place across three major sites in the area – Trim, Drogheda and Athboy – from October 31-November 2. It will see an assortment of interactive displays and performances loosely based on five traditional Samhain characters, led by the shapeshifting spirit of Púca – the Irish word for ghost.<\/p> Many of the caravan & camping sites<\/strong><\/a> are open over the weekend and into the mid-term break. Some sites even have their own Halloween activities and entertainment. Here are some of the great events taking place<\/p> Hidden Valley, Wicklow<\/a><\/strong> – Wacky Wizard Party in the Enchanted Forest:This event is NOT SCARY, but rather full of fun and laughter for all ages both big and small! Everyone is encouraged to come in costume. This is open to families staying on the park and to the general public but must be booked in advance.<\/p> Spooky Bush Tucker and Bonfire Talent show.<\/p> Battlebridge Glamping, Caravan & Camping Park<\/strong><\/a>, Leitrim<\/a> are offering bloody pizzas and ?human fingers? in their onsite restaurant as well as family tickets to Carrick?s Halloween Tour<\/p> Nore Valley Park, Kilkenny<\/strong><\/a> has their own pumpkin patch where you can pick you own pumpkin and carve out your own great masterpiece. At night there will be the annual torch light treasure hunt and bonfire with toasted marshmallows. The 42nd Guinness Cork Jazz Festival<\/strong><\/a>will see every nook and cranny of Cork City come alive throughout the October bank holiday weekend to the sounds of over 1,000 musicians and creative artists from more than 20 countries. In Limerick Lumen Street Theatre lights up Limerick and brings ?Samhain?, Limerick?s Halloween<\/strong><\/a> Festival back to the streets of medieval Limerick. Celebrate local folklore and traditions through talks and workshops, and fun educational events for children that will include spooky storytelling, all set within this ancient part of the city. After all these spooky goings on headed out to the on The Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Park<\/strong><\/a> which has 98km of scenic trails taking in forest road climbs, tight twisty singletrack, and technical rocky bits.
